Princess Anne has once again been crowned the hardest-working Royal of 2024, reclaiming her prestigious title despite a temporary hiatus from her duties due to an unfortunate injury last year.
The mother-of-two carried out an impressive 395 engagements in the UK and 79 abroad in 2024, surpassing her total for 2023 by 17.
An expert has now shed light on one particular ritual that demonstrates the Princess Royal’s dedication. During the latest episode of Hello! Magazine’s A Right Royal Podcast, Emily Nash, Andrea Caamano, and The Telegraph’s Royal editor Hannah Furness discussed Anne’s accomplishments.
They revealed that the secret to Anne’s success is her ability to undertake multiple engagements in a single day.
Despite often “popping in and out” of public appearances via helicopter due to time constraints, they affirmed that she is “she is remarkably switched on”, has “done all the reading”, and is “thoroughly committed”.
Andrea then shared a personal memory of witnessing Princess Anne’s industrious nature when she saw the Royal preparing for an event by reading notes.
She remembered: “I actually did see Princess Anne once, on the street, and she was on her official cart and she was reading notes ahead of going to an event, so there we go, hard-working.”
Looking ahead to 2025, Andrea predicted: “I don’t know what’s going to happen in 2025, but I’m just going to say – she’ll top it again.”
King Charles secured second place on the list of hardest-working Royals, following his sister Anne, after completing 329 engagements in the UK and 43 overseas, all while undergoing cancer treatment.
Prince Edward, aged 60, took third place with 293 engagements, narrowly beating his wife, the Duchess of Edinburgh, aged 59, who fulfilled 257 duties.
The Duke of Gloucester, 80, a first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II, came fifth behind Sophie with 216 engagements. Meanwhile, Charles’s wife Queen Camilla undertook 182 engagements in 2024, followed by the monarch’s eldest son, Prince William, aged 42, who carried out 166.
