Princess Anne wowed royal fans last week as she stepped out in an outfit with a very sentimental meaning.
The Princess Royal, 74, attended the British Standards Institution’s International Electrotechnical Commission Annual Meeting in Edinburgh last week, wearing an item that the late Queen Elizabeth once wore.
Anne proudly wore her mother’s purple suede check-design jacket at the event, along with her own checked skirt and high-necked silky printed blouse beneath.
This was the second time she had been seen wearing the special outfit, according to Hello! Magazine, as she had been seen wearing it earlier this year when she visited the Nottingham West Primary Care Network and GH Hurt and Son in February.
The jacket was last seen before this on the late Queen in 2010 as she disembarked the Hebridean Princess at Scrabster Harbour, Scotland.
Since Anne’s outing last week, royal fans have been quick to praise the jacket and its special meaning.
One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “How lovely. This is a nice gesture from Princess Anne and a lovely tribute to her mum. She is awesome. I love her.”
Another said: “Like mother, like daughter.”
One fan wrote: “Always supporting her mum.”
The princess is known to wear many of her own outfits, including her mum’s beloved jacket.
Princess Anne was spotted at a royal engagement just last month wearing her beloved green tweed suit, which has become a firm favourite for the Princess Royal over the years.
She has worn the suit on many occasions, including at an event in Scotland just days before her mother’s death, the late Queen, in 2022.
