Princess Anne reportedly left her brother, King Charles, deeply concerned after she suffered a concussion earlier this year.
The Daily Mail’s Rebecca English reported that the Princess Royal was hospitalised following an incident where she was kicked by a horse at her Gatcombe Park residence.
She further revealed that the incident was “really very significant”, and that Anne, 74, still has no memory of the event. The Royal family faced several health scares in 2024, with both King Charles and Kate Middleton diagnosed with cancer, and Sarah Ferguson also undergoing treatment for the disease.
Stepping up to help in the wake of the family’s health struggles, Princess Anne and her younger brother Prince Edward have assumed more Royal duties, earning public admiration. But it’s not just Anne’s dedication to duty that has won praise; as her down-to-earth nature has also been commended.
Colin Clay, station manager for NCI Shoreham, told the Daily Express that during his meeting with Anne, she showed genuine interest in his work and was very approachable. He said: “She is very down to earth, easy to talk to and puts you at ease. She is one really lovely, nice lady.”
NCI chairman Stephen Hand added: “She was absolutely brilliant. We are absolutely delighted to have her as our royal patron. She really does get involved.”, reports GloucestershireLive.
Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, has recently divulged details about her idyllic childhood, surrounded by horses and nature.
In a heartfelt interview with ITV in 2023, Zara reminisced: “It was a great place to grow up around horses, looking after animals – the respect and partnership that you have to build with the animals, it teaches you so much you know growing up and as a kid. It really is an amazing life starting to be outside as well, you know, all the time.”
Zara also shared with People Magazine how her Royal roots and constant interaction with animals have shaped her parenting approach to her three children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas, with her husband Mike Tindall.
She expressed her sentiments saying: “I think just the passion and love for horses that’s been passed down through our family, we’re very lucky to have them in our lives.”
She continued to describe the unique bond between humans and horses, stating: “Being able to do it every day is incredible and it’s such an amazing sport. Any equestrian sport, that partnership between the horse and rider, or an owner and the horse is, it’s incredible. We’re very lucky to work with horses.”
