The Prince of Wales received a sweet gift while on tour in Estonia, which carried a cute link to his middle child, Princess Charlotte. Prince William is currently on a two-day tour in the Baltic country and today he met with the country’s president, Alar Karis, at the presidential palace in the capital, Tallinn.

Before he headed into the building, William was greeted by a group of young children from Tallinn Lotte Kindergarten, who gave him a cuddly dog called Lotte, which is the name of one of Estonia’s most famous children’s stories and is also short for Charlotte, his daughter’s name.

He was also given a card from the children for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Ahead of the meeting, president Karis praised the British troops stationed at Tapa Camp and said “we really, we really appreciate it”.

The two men spent more than an hour discussing a wide range of topics, including the strength of the UK-Estonia bilateral relationship, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and William’s visit to the Tapa military base on Friday.

William thanked the politician for his hospitality and the opportunity to visit the country.

The future King is now heading to a school founded by the Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia in May 2022 to respond to the war in Ukraine.

He will also attend an event to learn about renewable energy start-ups.

Tomorrow, the prince will travel to Tapa Army Base, where British forces are stationed, ready to defend NATO’s eastern flank and meet soldiers from his regiment and Estonian troops.

A Kensington Palace spokesman hailed William’s visit as an example of the Prince “representing the United Kingdom at the highest level on the global stage,” with his visit falling at a crucial political time.

While the trip has been in the planning for over six months, the timing has provided a real boost to the Estonian people who are becoming increasingly concerned Russia may launch an attack on them or other Northern European NATO allies.

The spokesperson added: “Both the Prince and Princess have been strong supporters of the Ukrainian community since the conflict began… This visit to Estonia over the next two days is a continuation of that support and as the situation continues to evolve the prince wanted to see firsthand how Estonia have played an integral part in helping over 60,000 refugees rebuild their lives.”
