The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to mark their son’s birthday today with a brand-new picture – a release sure to delight many royal fans.
The couple’s two younger children – Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis – have already celebrated their birthdays this year, which took place in April and May, marked with the release of new pictures.
George is currently a student at Lambrook School, which is the school also attended by his siblings.
As their current school only caters for pupils up until the age of 13, George will be expected to attend a new setting from September 2026.
The young royal’s 12th birthday also marks another major change in his life – he will no longer be allowed to travel via air with his father.
As reported by People, it is believed this is a measure put in place to ensure the line of succession is not drastically changed too much if there is an accident while travelling.
This was revealed by King Charles’ former pilot Graham Laurie, who said on A Right Royal Podcast in 2023: “Interestingly, we flew all four: the Prince [Charles], the Princess [Diana], Prince William and Prince Harry, up until Prince William was 12 years old. After that, he had to have a separate aircraft, and we could only fly all four together when they were young with the written permission of Her Majesty (the late Queen).”
