Prince William has had a successful two-day visit to Estonia, with the final day including supporting UK troops overseas in what is now the British Army’s biggest operational deployment in the Baltic state. The Prince earlier took his seat in a Challenger 2 tank and saw soldiers and military equipment guarding NATO’s eastern flank.
The Prince of Wales visited some of the 900 British troops in this multinational force, including soldiers of the Mercian regiment of which the prince is colonel-in-chief. But William had to rush back home “in time for the school pick up” reports Daily Express Royal Editor Emily Ferguson, who has been on the ground in Estonia. The doting dad of three to Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, has always been reported as a “hands-on” parent alongside his royal duties.
On Thursday, crowds of local Estonians waited in the freezing weather to meet the prince in Tallinn, lining the railings to shake his hand or take pictures. The future King also began his visit by meeting with the country’s president, Alar Karis, at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Tallinn.
After a successful trip, Prince William will be home to greet his three children who all currently attend Lambrook School, which educates pupils until the age of 13.
As Prince George is now 11, rumours have been circulating as to where the future king will spend his next years. Many have wondered whether he might follow in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, and his uncle, Prince Harry, and study at the prestigious Berkshire-based Eton College.
But now, sources have told The Mail on Sunday that the Princess of Wales is so likely to select the £59,000-a-year school. If it is confirmed that George will be a pupil at Marlborough, it will be the first time a male heir attends a co-educational school.
The Princess of Wales might find it appealing that George attends the school herself, sister Pippa Middleton, and brother, James Middleton all attended. Marlborough has an extensive list of illustrious alumni, including Princess Eugenie, and comedian Jack Whitehall.
Kate then went on to study at The University of St Andrews, where she met Prince William and enjoyed a friendship with the royal prior to a blossoming relationship.
On April 29, 2011, Prince William and Kate Middleton were married in Westminster Abbey when they tied the knot in front of 1,900 guests.
