Prince William was one of over 40 royals to join King Charles and Queen Camilla at Sandringham this week for the annual royal Christmas celebrations.

Although William, 42, is believed to be staying at his nearby home Amner Hall with wife Princess Kate and their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, the family still got involved in the main Christmas celebrations.

As well as the festive lunch, Prince William and his family also took part in the annual walkabout outside St Mary Magdalene church on the Sandringham estate, where the royals all attended a Christmas Day church service.

While members of the public wait outside to see the Royal Family afterwards, little is known about what the service inside entails, with Prince William once revealing some details during an appearance on the Apple Fitness + podcast Time to Walk, as reported by OK!.

As he reminisced about memories at the special festive service, The Prince of Wales recalled why it was sometimes difficult as a child to keep a straight face.

In an 11-word remark, the prince once said: “I have had the giggles many, many times in the service.”

He explained on the podcast: “What’s very good about it is that we sit opposite each other as a family, and growing up, having my cousins sat opposite me has always been quite difficult to keep a straight face at times.

“I have had the giggles many, many times in the service. Luckily, no one’s filming it.

“So you can get away with it, and on Christmas Day, it’s fun to have a giggle and enjoy yourself.”

Prince William was all smiles on Wednesday as he left the church service with his family and greeted well wishers.

The prince was handed a selection of gifts, alongside his children who had their arms full with teddy bears, chocolates and flowers.

Princess Kate was also laden with gifts including flower bouquets.
