Prince William and Princess Kate are set to have a weekend of celebration ahead as they celebrate two special occasions. Not only is The Prince of Wales turning 43 today, a celebration that will likely see him get spoiled by his nearest and dearest, but Princess Kate’s parents are also celebrating a big day.
This is because Carole and Michael Middleton are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary today, having married on this day in 1980. While it is not known how the family plan to celebrate, it is believed they will have some form of get-together for the celebrations today.
It is believed that Prince William, Princess Kate and their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, ten, and Prince Louis, seven, see Princess Kate’s parents often.
Living just a short distance away from one another, the families are believed to meet up regularly, whether that be at Prince William and Kate’s Adelaide Cottage home in Windsor, or Carole and Michael’s home Bucklebury Manor in Berkshire.
It is also reported that both Carole, 70, and Michael, 75, are very hands-on grandparents when it comes to spending time with George, Charlotte and Louis.
This was the case more than ever last year, when they stepped up to help the family during Princess Kate’s cancer treatment.
During this time, Carole was believed to have spent a lot of time with her eldest daughter’s children.
A source close to the Middletons told The Independent at the time: “Carole has been the driving force keeping the family together with minimum fuss and maximum modesty.
“She’s ferried and fetched George, Louis and Charlotte, taken them to school sports matches and given them endless support.
“She’s been a real Mary Poppins-like figure.”
