Prince Louis is well-known for his cheeky antics, whether that be pulling funny faces in public or dancing at royal events, however it appears his cheekiness – like other six-year-olds – also occurs behind closed doors too.
After moving to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor in 2022, Prince Louis began his first ever day at Lambrook School in September that year with siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
However, while the family-of-five was walking up to the school doors on the children’s first day, in front of the awaiting UK press, Prince Louis appeared to snub his dad.
While often seen wanting to hold Prince William’s hand, this was not the case for the prince on his first day of school as he instead decided to ignore his father’s hand and instead just held Princess Kate’s.
Prince William then ruffled the youngster’s hair instead as they approached the school headmaster Jonathan Perry.
The children appeared happy to be starting at the new school, with Prince George and Prince Louis sporting matching uniforms while Charlotte wore a blue checked school dress.
Prince William and Princess Kate, who were by their three children’s side, also seemed happy and relaxed as they introduced their children to the headmaster, with Kate wearing a beautiful brown spotty dress.
Two years later, the three children still attend the same school, with either Kate or William doing the daily school run each day from their Windsor cottage.
It has also been reported that both parents also attend events at the school such as sports days and football matches.
While Louis still has years to go at Lambrook, the same can not be said for his older brother Prince George, 11, who within a few years is set to attend a new school as he enters the next stage of his education.
Questions have been raised about whether the second-in-line to the throne will attend Eton in the footsteps of his father Prince William, or the same boarding school as his mum Kate.
According to New York Post, royal expert Katie Nicholl told The Mirror: “Kate’s preference is for George to be at a co-educational school, so he can be with his siblings, which is what Kate experienced at Marlborough with her sister, Pippa, and brother, James.
“It was a very happy school life for her, but William has very fond memories of Eton, which has a long history with aristocrats and members of the Royal Family.”
