Prince William has revealed that Prince Louis is “obsessed” with playing on the trampoline – which prompts challenges with Princess Charlotte. William, who is also dad to 12-year-old Prince George, recently appeared on an episode of The Reluctant Traveler.
The royal discussed his three children and shared some of their favourite hobbies – including one that leads to healthy competition between Louis and Charlotte. The royal, 43, told Eugene Levy that his two youngest children, who are now aged 10 and 7, enjoy the sporty activity where they “end up jumping up and down on the trampoline, beating each other up, most of the time.” Prince William said: “Apparently, there is an art to it. Charlotte does her netball as well, and her ballet, and so keeping them busy with sports and being outdoors is really important.
“They’re trying to learn musical instruments. I’m not sure how successful we’re being with that. George loves his football and his hockey.”
William’s wife Princess Kate previously revealed that she also shares that they have a competitive streak in their marriage.
During a September 2023 appearance on Mike Tindall’s podcast, The Good, The Bad, and The Rugby, Kate said jokingly of herself and William: “I don’t think we’ve managed to finish a game of tennis, the two of us.
“It becomes a mental challenge between the two of us.”
William also shared that he enjoys recreating his own childhood memories with his three children.
Meeting at Windor Castle, William gave Eugene a grand tour of the historic residence, with the royal referring to St George’s Hall as one of his “favourite parts”.
After sharing that he used to enjoy running around the halls but would risk getting splitters, he said that “now it’s a lot easier”, saying, “My children don’t realise how lucky they are. They’ve got a big old carpet. They can run down and there’s no splinters.”
