Prince Louis, the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales could step into the spotlight for a rare public appearance next month for a special Christmas event.

This appearance will be a delight for royal watchers, who have come to cherish the brief glimpses of Prince Louis’ personality and unique bond with his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

It has been announced Princess Kate will attend her Together at Christmas Service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, December 6, and Prince Louis is set to be in attendance to support mum Kate. His siblings are also expected to be there.

Kate had been keen to ensure the event formed part of her gradual return to royal duties, having held a planning meeting on the service in September.

The Palace said Kate, who finished her cancer chemotherapy treatment in the summer, particularly wanted the service’s theme to celebrate those supporting others in need, with a focus on the importance of love and empathy.

The Christmas concert, hosted annually by the Princess of Wales, has gained significant attention as a heartwarming Royal Family tradition, complete with music, carols, and special messages.

The young royal is often shielded from the public eye to maintain a sense of normality, a priority for Prince William and Princess Catherine, who have emphasised the importance of family and stability in their children’s lives.

During Louis’ first appearance at the Princess of Wales’ Royal Carols: Together At Christmas event in 2023, eagle-eyed fans watching on television believed he “stole the show”.

One viewer wrote: “Louis is honestly the cutest little boy. #RoyalCarols”.

Another commented: “Oooh Louis’s first stealing of the show! #RoyalCarols.”

Commenting on this year’s special event, Kensington Palace said: “This year’s service provides a moment to reflect upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives.”

Kensington Palace added: “The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities.”

The Palace added: “This year, Her Royal Highness wanted to celebrate the many people supporting those in need – individuals who have inspired, counselled, comforted, and above all else shown that love is the greatest gift we can receive.”

The annual Christmas concert has fast become an important component of Kate’s diary since she launched the event in 2021.

Among the invited guests to Westminster Abbey will be those who have supported others, either on a personal level with friends and family or through their work or volunteering.

Kate and William are expected to bring their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, to the event.

‘Together at Christmas’ will be filmed and broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve.
