Prince Harry’s ‘two different problems’ he is ‘struggling to separate’ | Royal | News

A royal expert has pointed out something that he believes the Duke of Sussex is struggling with following his bombshell interview with the BBC. Prince Harry, who was speaking after losing a legal battle over the level of tax-payer funded security he gets in the UK, appeared emotional and close to tears through much of the interview – leaving many concerned about his wellbeing.

But one expert suggested Harry is struggling to separate the issues with the Royal Family and his security. Afua Hagan, royal contributor for CTV News in Canada, told True Royalty TV: “I don’t think he can separate the issues with his family from the issues of security, because it’s all tied up. It is all the same thing. The reason why he is in the position he is now is because of the family, because he feels that they are instrumental in taking away that security from his nuclear family, from his immediate family.”

During the interview with the BBC, Harry, 40, said he wants a “reconciliation” with his family as he offered an olive branch.

After losing the latest round in his court battle, he said “this, at the heart of it, is a family dispute”.

The royal expert said the Duke made some good points in the interview but that he was “clearly broken” and “clearly distressed”.

Mr Hagan said: “You can see the toll that this has taken on him over the past five years, but there was also an element of him saying lots of the quiet parts out loud.

“And maybe he didn’t deliver it in the best way, but he made some very, very good points.”

After losing the legal challenge, Harry said he does not think he can bring his family to the UK because it isn’t safe to do so.

In an apparent reference to the death of his mother, Princess Diana, Harry told the BBC: “I don’t want history to repeat itself.

“I think there’s a lot of other people out there, and the majority that also don’t want history to repeat itself.

“Through the disclosure process, I’ve discovered that some people want history to repeat itself, which is pretty dark.”

The Duke said in the interview that the King, who is being treated for cancer, is not talking to him but signalled he wanted to repair their relationship, saying “life is precious”.

He said: “I don’t know how much longer my father has, he, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.”
