Prince Harry broke his silence yesterday when he was questioned about whether there was any truth to the rumours of him and Meghan Markle separating.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, who married Meghan in 2018, attended the 2024 New York Times DealBook Summit yesterday alone.
At the event, the prince addressed rumours about his marriage to Meghan with an edge of sarcasm to his voice and jokingly said in a curt seven words: “We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times.”
Harry went on to squash rumours that he and his wife have moved house or are going their separate ways.
He said: “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”
The fervent online speculation began a few months ago after the couple, who quit life as senior royals in 2020 and moved to California, started to attend more engagements and events alone.
This includes Prince Harry’s recent solo trip overseas and Meghan’s red-carpet appearances.
According to a source who spoke to Hello! Magazine, the couple’s long-term plan was always to pursue ventures independently.
They said: “Harry and Meghan have consistently pursued solo ventures in connection with their individual interests, but remain deeply committed to their joint efforts through Archewell.
“Together they have exciting projects in the pipeline, all driving forward their shared mission for positive global impact.”
