Prince Harry’s good friend has spoken out about the bombshell Vanity Fair article released just days ago.

The friend, who is also pals with Harry’s estranged brother Prince William, said that the story is “unfair”, especially regarding accusations about Prince Harry’s marriage to Meghan Markle.

In the Vanity Fair article, sources reportedly claimed that Meghan’s team spoke to publishers about writing a potential book if she and Harry were set to break up, with the subject of the book being divorce.

The article said that if the rumour is true, it is likely Meghan would have been the one to have been approached by a publisher rather than the other way around.

Vanity Fair confirmed that no offer was ever made and no manuscript for a book was produced.

Prince Harry’s friend told the Daily Beast in a furious eight-word rebuke: “The Vanity Fair divorce story seemed very unfair.”

He continued: “There was a book but there wasn’t a book, she was planning for life after divorce, but they are totally in love. What? There was not a shred of evidence.”

Later in the article, sources reportedly told Vanity Fair that the couple are very much in love.

This comes after Harry, 40, used humour to try and shut down rumours that the couple were separating.

At the 2024 New York Times DealBook Summit last year, the Duke of Sussex joked: “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”

The couple were also seen just weeks ago volunteering together at an evacuation site in LA following the devastating wildfires in a show of unity.

During their visit, the couple were seen affectionately holding hands as they spent time handing out supplies to victims of the fire and speaking to emergency service workers.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s office have not commented on the Vanity Fair article.
