Prince Harry urged to return to UK as Jeremy Vine viewer says: 'Royal Family needs him!'

Passionate callers were discussing Prince Harry’s next return to the UK on Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 this morning, and discussions became heated on whether Prince Harry should be welcomed back into the royal fold.

Caller, Judy, from Birmingham strongly believes “family is family”. She told the TV presenter: “Everyone should mind their own business in the country. You don’t know what’s happened in that family. Just welcome him back with open arms.”

Taking to Jeremy she said: “You don’t know what Harry wants. I don’t know what Harry wants. They should say to him, if you want to come home, come home.”

Caller Judy also expressed her thoughts on the family needing “all the help they can get”. It comes as the Royal Family is thin on the ground with senior working royals attending engagements, with King Charles and Princess Kate out of action.

King Charles has taken a break from public duties as he undergoes treatment for cancer, but he did make a special video appearance during the Commonwealth Day service. The King pledged to continue to serve the Commonwealth “to the best of my ability”, in his annual address to the family of nations.

Since his cancer diagnosis was announced on February 5, he has postponed all public-facing duties but is continuing with behind-the-scenes work on his red boxes of state papers and holding some in-person meetings.

Princess Kate is also out of action as she rests from her abdominal surgery and Kensington Palace stated she would return to public duties after Easter. The Princess of Wales has been in hot water since last Sunday after agencies “killed” the now infamous picture over fears it had been “digitally altered”.

Uploading an apology and signed post to social media, Kate wrote: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”

Calls for Prince Harry’s return to the Royal Family followed his video appearance at the Diana Legacy Award ceremony in London on March 14.

Shortly after Prince William had left the event at the Science Museum, Harry dialled in from California and chatted to winners of the award which was set up two years after the royal’s shock death to honour young people who have improved the lives of others.

Harry was met with applause and laughter as he appeared on the room’s big screen. The Prince said: “So much of the future depends on you guys. Some of the work you do may feel as though you are small, some of it is big but the impact again that you are having on hundreds of thousands, millions of people.

“Without you guys doing that and without you inspiring other people because it feels good and because you get so much from it, that inspiration is like a ripple effect and it goes all across the water.”
