Prince Harry told to 'stop being a victim' and focus on 'power' he could have

Prince Harry has been urged to stop criticising the Royal Family and instead use his “powerful voice” for charity work, says an old friend. The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with the royals has been strained since he and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members in 2020.

In his book ‘Spare’, Harry spoke about his rocky relationship with Prince William and criticised his father, Prince Charles. Now, a former friend of Harry’s, using the pseudonym Edward Charles Featherstone, has said that Harry is “not a victim” and should shift his focus away from the Royal Family.

Edward Charles Featherstone, a pseudonym chosen by one of Harry’s former polo-playing pals, told The Mirror: “I can only give you my opinion, what I have a very strong opinion about though, is that he’s not a victim. He’s not a victim and he could be a very, very powerful voice as the torch bearer for Invictus and not what he is doing.”

In addition to his work with the Invictus Games Foundation, he also co-founded and supports Sentebale, a charity aiding young people in Lesotho. Last year, he and Meghan supported various charities, including those related to education.

The Sussexes have also initiated more charitable projects through their organisation, the Archewell Foundation. For instance, they celebrated International Day of the Girl in October by supporting Troop 6000, a unique programme assisting families living in temporary housing in New York City’s shelter system.

They also collaborated with the GEANCO Foundation in September, which provides healthcare and education services in Nigeria, including scholarships for victims of terrorism and gender inequality.
