Prince Harry has been savaged by a columnist as Prince William is praised for “fighting for the underdogs” – whilst Harry “fights for himself”.
Writing in the Daily Mail column, Jan Moir credited the Prince of Wales’s recent ITV documentary, ‘Prince William: We Can End Homelessness’, for embracing “big and difficult subjects” and for royals, such as William, in using their platform to “expose themselves to the scrutiny of documentary cameras”.
Unlike his brother, Harry has recently released the paperback version of his ” tell-all, whine-all” memoir, Spare – which was originally released last year. Harry – who now resides in the US – has also recently been referred to “a black sheep” by former US president Donald Trump’s son Eric.
In her column, Jan opined about the stark differences between the warring brothers, particularly considering their recent ventures.
She wrote: “If you need a further exemplar of the basic difference between the two warring brothers, here it is right in front of you: William battles for the underdogs, while Harry battles for himself.”
Jan added: “At the end of all this, one could argue that the stature of the Royal Family is not what it was and that when Queen Elizabeth died, much of their prestige and mystique died with her.
“However, despite the difficulties and illnesses that 2024 has visited upon the House of Windsor, do you know what? Against all the odds, Charles and William are doing just fine.”
William and Harry have been feuding for several years, with them having recently come together to attend their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes’ funeral in August.
Despite being in the same room, some sources said they arrived discreetly and no one saw them speak.
In addition to the paperback release of Spare, Harry is soon set to release a five-part series focused on his love of polo as part of the lucrative Netflix deal.
The Daily Mail reported in September that Netflix bosses are said to be “disappointed ” with the final edit, according to a source who claimed the service thought it would get “more bang for its buck.”
Harry’s series is set to be released in December, and Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, will act as executive producers.
