Prince Harry 'playing the victim card' over brief visit to see King Charles

Prince Harry has been accused of “playing the victim card” over his brief visit to see King Charles in the UK.

A source confirmed on Monday that the Duke of Sussex was set to fly over to the UK to meet with his father in London. Shortly before, Buckingham Palace had confirmed that the 75-year-old monarch had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer”.

Boarding an overnight flight to the UK, Harry arrived at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday afternoon. Just 25 hours later, Harry was spotted preparing to board a flight back to the US, after a brief meeting with the King on February 6.

Speaking on GB News, host Beverley Turner said: “What they [the Sussexes] do, and they’ve done it repeatedly with the Netflix documentary series, is they manage to cast themselves into these positions where they become the victim.

“They’re very good at this victimhood mentality, they play that role brilliantly.”

Expanding on this, Ms Turner added: “Well how does he play this out now, well, ‘I went to see my father and he wouldn’t even make more than half an hour for me’, that’s how it plays out in their mind.”

Also speaking on the show, columnist Carole Malone said: “[I don’t think] the public are buying that [the victimhood] anymore.

“I think the American public are wise to them now and I think people certainly here are wise to them.

“They don’t believe the victim stuff anymore, they see what he’s doing, they see the manipulation.”

Speaking on Harry’s decision to fly over to the UK, Ms Malone added: “It seems to me that he’s flown in as a bit of a PR exercise. He wasn’t invited.”

Ms Malone stated that, according to author Robert Jobson, Harry’s visit “ended up not being 45 minutes [but instead being] 30 minutes”.

Harry’s wife Meghan Markle decided to remain in the US with their two children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

Unlike Harry, Meghan chose to stay away from the UK and has, so far, not returned to Harry’s home country since 2022.

The couple have lived in the US since 2020, shortly after announcing their decision to step down as senior working royals in January 2020.
