Prince Harry ‘out of his depth’ as he ditches ‘mediocre’ move | Royal | News

Prince Harry has spoken fondly about his new life in the US after relocating to his wife Meghan Markle’s home country five years ago. After quitting royal life in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought a home in Montecito, California, where they live with their two children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

While he has praised the more relaxed lifestyle he now has, saying it is one his mother the late Diana, Princess of Wales would have “wanted” for him, it is widely reported that the Duke has struggled coming to terms with non-royal work. Although Meghan seems to thrive in front of the camera, having launched her cooking Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, this year, it seems that Harry has not found it quite so easy.

Despite having been part of various Netflix series over the last few years, including the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, and the 2024 series Polo, which flopped, the prince is not expected to delve any further into the media world.

Instead, it is believed Harry will stick to his charity work, something he did as a royal and has continued to do since under his and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation.

This view was put forward by Jennie Bond, former royal correspondent with the BBC, who told the Mirror: “Harry was probably always going to be out of his depth as a would-be TV producer or presenter.

“He has dabbled, and the results have been mediocre, so I think he now realises he is better placed using his platform to pursue his charitable and campaigning work.”

While Harry may be focusing more on charitable endeavours, Meghan has really made her mark with her own business ventures.

As well as launching her own brand As Ever this year, which has now had multiple sell-out launches, Meghan also began her own podcast series called Confessions of a Female Founder.

After recording one full series, which saw Meghan sit down with female business founders to talk all things business, the Duchess decided to pause the podcast for now to allow her to keep growing As Ever.

While the brand first started off with selling preserves, flower sprinkles and teas, it has since expanded its product range, selling its first ever wine on July 1.

Prince Harry is not involved in his wife’s brand, podcast series or her Netflix show “With Love, Meghan”, which he made just one small cameo in.
