Prince Harry seemed to take a savage swipe at the Royal Family during an appearance in New York City today. The 40-year-old, who resides in California, made an unexpected appearance at the NEXUS Global Summit on June 27.
During his appearance, Harry addressed an audience of next-generation philanthropists and impact investors. Taking to the mic, the father-of-two reflected on his personal journey from being born into a life of service to discovering his own purpose. As reported by PEOPLE, Harry then appeared to take a subtle swipe at his family after urging attendees to “take care of each other and our children in the future” and to “tackle the systems instead of the symptoms keeping us down.”
GB News reported that he also called on the philanthropists to use their platforms to foster meaningful collaboration and change and asked them to consider their desired legacies and align their investments with that vision.
The summit has brought together 350 leading philanthropists, impact investors, and social innovators under the theme of “Brave Voices and Bold Ideas.” The three-day event focuses on finding solutions to pressing generational challenges.
Harry’s visit marked his latest trip away from his family—including his two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four — in California.
The family celebrated Lilibet’s birthday earlier this month with a visit to Disneyland, a trip that Meghan Markle documented on Instagram.
Meghan and Harry visited New York City together in April for the TIME100 Summit.
During the visit, Meghan reflected on her family life, sharing that she is “the happiest I’ve ever been’.
The mother-of-two expressed her gratitude for having “a partner and a husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful”.
