Prince Harry was tipped to miss a major Prince William moment after he was blasted by a royal source following his bombshell BBC interview. The Duke of Sussex spoke to the BBC earlier this month after he lost a High Court appeal regarding his downgraded security in the UK.
Harry made various sensational claims, saying he does not know how “much time [King Charles] has left” following his cancer diagnosis, that some of his family will not forgive him for writing Spare and that he wants to reconcile with them. The royal’s move has been criticised by several royal watchers, who, in the majority, said Harry should not have spoken about the King’s health or his feud with the Royal Family. Now Page Six cited sources who claimed that the Duke’s interview was the last straw in his ongoing feud with his estranged family, while a royal author said his frosty relationship with his brother, the Prince of Wales, will see Harry miss a major moment for him.
A source told the outlet: “I think it’s done… I don’t think there’s [any] coming back from that.
“Before the interview, we thought, ‘Come on William, extend a hand to your brother. But now it seems that Harry hasn’t learned s**t.”
The outlet noted that Sussex sources insisted the Duke is “keen to make amends with his family”, after he told the BBC: “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.”
But royal author Hugo Vickers questioned whether Harry’s latest outburst could help fix his with his family and brother and whether the Duke will be invited to William’s coronation when he becomes King.
He told the outlet that William could “theoretically” invite Harry, adding: “But quite frankly he can do what he likes. It is not set in stone. The Duke of Windsor was not invited to [Queen Elizabeth’s] coronation in 1953. There was a lot of discussion about it. We know that William is unforgiving anyway.”
It comes after other sources claimed William has “no incentive” to speak to Prince Harry following his interview.
They told the Mirror: “The Duke’s latest decision to speak publicly about his family and the situation he finds himself in will only result in him being further than ever from the reconciliation he now says he wants. At its very heart, for the family, there is a major trust issue when even thinking about speaking to him.”
The sources claimed the Prince of Wales reportedly has “no incentive” to reconcile with his brother after he is free to “only ever present one view”. They said: “There is certainly no incentive to do so when he is so free to openly criticise and only ever present one view, being his.”
