Prince Harry called the ‘people’s prince’ after sweet moment with fan | Royal | News

Prince Harry was dubbed “the people’s prince” after a sweet exchange he had with one of his fans during his four-day visit to the UK. On Tuesday, the Duke of Sussex headed to Nottingham to visit the Community Recording Studio (CRS) and announce his £1.1 million personal donation to BBC Children in Need to support young people affected by youth violence.

The King’s younger son beamed as he arrived in Nottingham 45 minutes late due to the Tube strike in London. He was greeted with cheers and jokes when he arrived at the charity and waved to the roughly 100 people that had gathered to catch a glimpse of him before entering the recording studio.

A video captured the moment when the Duke was on his way inside when a woman was heard telling him: “Harry, we love you!”

The prince turned around and smiled before he headed inside. Fans were delighted with his reaction and took to social media to praise him.

One user wrote on Instagram: “The People’s Prince. Just like his mother!”

A second fan said: “A man of DIGNITY. A man of HONOR who stood STRONG for the people he LOVES. We LOVE HARRY.”

Another one added: “What a gentleman.”

A fourth one agreed, as they said: “He is so down to earth.”

A fifth person commented: “I love Prince Harry. He is definitely the People’s Prince just like his mother.”

The Duke’s gift to BBC Children in Need has come from his own money rather than his Archewell Foundation

He told invited guests in a speech on Tuesday: “This isn’t just charity, it’s an investment. An investment in futures, in hope, in keeping young people safe. But I know my contribution alone is not enough.

“Real change requires all of us: government, police, schools, charities, and importantly, businesses, stepping up and working together.”
