Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be offered reduced terms when offered to renew their Netflix deal, a commentator has claimed. The contract is believed to be set to expire this year, following the release of several projects including the documentary ‘Harry & Meghan’ launched in December 2022, two years after they stepped down as working royals.

Leading royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News he believes “a deal of some sort” will be renewed – but there’s a catch. He said that “it almost certainly will not be on the terms that were originally agreed” adding in reference to the upcoming With Love, Meghan programme launching tomorrow: “Netflix is obviously hoping there will be a positive response to the eight-part series.” It comes as the Duke of Sussex’s ‘Heart of Invictus’ released in August 2023 underperformed compared to their debut series.

Harry’s project “Polo” was released in December 2024, and also failed to breakthrough in the same way the Sussexes’ debut project did, and it failed to obtain a Netflix Top 10 category, globally. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also released ‘Live to Lead’, which featured a series of high-profile interviews with leading personalities worldwide.

The new show coincides with Meghan’sre-branding her lifestyle venture. Following some trademark difficulties for the lifestyle brand, which was originally called American Riviera Orchard, she settled for the name ‘As Ever’. But, after revealing the new name, she was accused of copying a Spanish town’s coat of arms, using a New York City-based clothing company’s name and even ripping off Pamela Anderson’s cooking show, “Pamela’s Cooking with Love.”

But according to Netflix, the series “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversations with friends, new and old.”

Netflix said: “Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”

Before she became the Duchess of Sussex and married Harry, Meghan launched her lifestyle blog, The Tig, in 2014.

The name was inspired by the Italian wine, Tignanello. It was an blog where the former TV actor shared her favorite food and travel discoveries and gave insight into her life.

Meghan recently announced on Instagram that her brand As Ever was “an extension” of The Tig.

Speaking about her brand name on an Instagram video posted on her page, Meghan said: “As Ever essentially means ‘as it’s always been’.

“And if you’ve followed me since 2014, with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening. This is what I do, and I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can.”
