Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have teamed up with US  President Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley, for a poignant cause, it has been revealed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s charity, the Archewell Foundation, released its annual impact report for 2023 to 2024 this week, showcasing its philanthropic work done this year.

It was accompanied by a video which highlighted their best moments while carrying out private and public engagements throughout the year.

Harry and Meghan’s charity, which they launched in 2020, is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to “show up, do good”, according to its website.

Archewell’s latest report indicated that the charity became a founding partner and supporter of Ashley Biden’s Womens Wellness (Spa)ce – a trauma-informed wellness centre for women in north Philadelphia.

The centre aims to offer a safe haven and community for women impacted by trauma, providing resources such as nutritious food, exercise, meditation, and therapeutic interventions.

The report stated: “Drawing from her experience with the criminal justice system, Biden’s initiative is inspired by her work with Mural Arts’ Women’s Reentry Program, providing support and opportunities for formerly incarcerated women.”

Meghan is known for her dedication to promoting and raising awareness of women’s empowerment through her endeavours.

Meanwhile, the charity’s tax form for the year 2023 revealed that it gave a £198,000 ($250,000) grant to Ms Biden’s wellness centre.

It also revealed it made around £4.5 million ($5.7 million) in revenue in 2023, up from just over two million dollars (£1.6 million) the year before.

In 2021, its first year of operation, Archewell received £10.3 million ($13 million) in contributions.

Last year, the charity distributed over £1 million ($1.3 million) in grants, a slight decrease from around £947,000 (£1.2 million) in 2022.

The 2023 filing showed that Harry and Meghan did not take salaries, but Shauna Nep, co-executive director, treasurer and secretary, was paid £215,000, and executive director and president James Holt was paid £180,000, including a £7,900 bonus each.
