Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have suffered yet another blow after Prince William hired a new key member for his team who comes from the Beckhams’ camp.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known to once have been close with David and Victoria Beckham, with the latter even attending their wedding in 2018, but since then, their relationship has become somewhat frosty.
But lately, the ex-football star has developed a close relationship with the heir to the throne and now William appears to be working with his former public relations chief, Victoria Shires, for his Homewards initiative, which is run by The Royal Foundation and aims to help end Homelessness.
The 34-year-old previously worked for three years with David as the Head of PR for his company DB Ventures.
Ms Shires joined the prince’s team in October.
William’s new Head of Communications for his Homewards project told the Mail: “It’s been a great first few weeks at the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales.”
She added about the heir to the throne’s recent ITV documentary about homelessness: “It’s been lovely to have launching that as my first project here.”
The Waleses and Beckham’s close relationship was evident last month, when the ex-football star joined the prince at RAF Northolt to mark the end of the London Air Ambulance’s ‘Up Against Time’ appeal that has raised £16m for two new helicopters.
William and David were seen beaming and cracking jokes throughout the engagement.
And just this week, David’s eldest child, Brooklyn, appeared on Watch What Happens Live and spoke to show host Andy Cohen about which members of the Royal Family he sees the most.
Andy told Brooklyn: “Jennifer B wants to know, Brooklyn, growing up, which members of the Royal family did you see the most often?
“Especially since your family is friends with Harry and Meghan.”
Brooklyn completely ignored the reference to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and said: “Probably William.
“He’s just the sweetest guy ever. He really is. He’s really down to earth, he’s a really good guy.”
