Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ‘desperate to be seen’ as deadline approaches

An appearance at a glitzy film premiere in Jamaica was branded “embarrassing” and “desperate” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to a royal biographer. Angela Levin believed the event, which celebrated the biopic of Bob Marley, was the perfect opportunity for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be seen.

Ms Levin told The Sun: “Pictures were taken with Andrew Holness [Jamaica’s Prime Minister], and he was the one who told William and Kate he wanted to sever ties and remove King Charles as head of state. I think that’s embarrassing really.”

Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness had previously shared plans to make Jamaica a republic. During William’s and the Princess of Wales’s tour of the Caribbean in 2022, Mr Holness brutally told the pair his plans.

Despite this, California-based couple made a surprise appearance at the Jamaican screening of Bob Marley: One Love on January 23.

Royal biographer, Ms Levin, also commented on the fact the couple was seen trying to cosy up to the CEO of Paramount Pictures, Brian Robbins.

She said: “I think they’re both desperate to be seen in the right places and being at a premier such as this one would be just the one right for them.”

It comes as the couple’s Netflix contract is expected to end in 2025, with another royal commentator, Kinsey Schofield, claiming the couple is “laser-focused”on plans.

Ms Schofield, claimed that the couple may have attended the event to court rival streaming service Paramount as Meghan and Harry continue to try to make it in Hollywood.

The Sussexes are reportedly working on several projects for the platform but none have been given a release date or promoted publicly.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a lucrative deal with Netflix after they stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020.

The couple have produced two documentaries for the platform, ‘Harry & Meghan’ which hit headlines worldwide and the ‘Heart of Invictus’ which failed to reach the same heights as their debut project.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s appearance at the premiere in Jamaica has also been slammed due to the royal family’s current health woes.

Harry’s father, the King, is undergoing hospital treatment for an enlarged prostate. Whereas, Princess Kate has just been discharged from hospital, after 14 days of recovering from abdominal surgery at The London Clinic.
