Prince Andrew ensuring York family 'are firmly back' in the royal fold with latest move

Prince Andrew and his family are “firmly back in the fold” after their recent joint appearance in Windsor, a royal source has claimed.

The Duke of York joined his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson and their daughter, Princess Beatrice, as they attended a thanksgiving service for the late King Constantine of Greece with the rest of the Royal Family on Tuesday.

During the service, Andrew was pictured sitting in the front row just five seats away from Queen Camilla, whereas Fergie, as she is known to friends and family, sat in the row behind joined by Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Princess Eugenie, the pair’s youngest daughter, was notably absent.

Now a royal source told the Mail that that Tuesday’s appearance signifies that Andrew “and the Yorks are firmly back in the fold”.

The duke is no longer a working royal due to his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Fergie and Beatrice are not working royals either, however, they do attend certain family events, as they did on Christmas Day last year, when they joined Andrew and the rest of the royals in Sandringham.

The source told the Mail: “There’s a feeling that no matter what Sarah’s personal faults – and she can be like Marmite in that respect – she has been a good mother to the girls and loyal to Andrew.”

Meanwhile, a royal expert claimed Andrew still hopes for a full royal comeback and will seize any chance to do so.

Royal biographer Phil Dampier told the publication: “We have been reminded of the fragility of the situation and Andrew will probably be encouraged to think he can one day make some sort of comeback, although it’s not likely for at least a year or two, if ever.”

He added: “It’s quite extraordinary that Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson were front and centre as they walked into the Chapel, almost like the old days.

“Yes, it was a private family event but it was a large turnout of royals seen by the public.

“Without the King, William and Kate the overall image is that of a slimmed down monarchy which is perhaps now too slimmed down.”
