What our Post expert thinks about Rams vs. 49ers
The Rams enter the season as the NFL’s most complete team after going 12-5 last year and strengthening their biggest weakness in the secondary.
With an elite offense and additions like Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson and Myles Garrett, they have the elite upside, though age, depth and a brutal early schedule are concerns.
The 49ers also won 12 games last season despite major defensive injuries, but they face another wave of health concerns entering 2026.
Their strong divisional outlook and ability to survive without Brock Purdy give them a high floor, though last year’s one-score record and special-teams luck make regression a real possibility.
