The Princess of Wales has issued a statement following the influx of confusion of the sweet Mother’s Day picture released on Sunday.
To mark Mother’s Day on March 10, Kensington Palace released a sweet family picture of Princess Kate posing alongside her three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.
Prince William is credited as the person behind the lense of the brand-new photograph, which was supposedly taken in Windsor last week.
Beaming at the camera, Kate is sat down with Charlotte and Louis to either side of her. Prince George, who is second in line to the throne, is stood up behind his mother.
Following speculation about noticeable editing errors, Princess Kate took to the couple’s official X account to issue a new statement – seemingly blaming herself for the errors.
Princess Kate wrote: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”

Signing off with her initial ‘C’, Kate ended the statement with: “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
The family photograph was shared with media on Sunday but it was withdrawn by international picture agencies later the same day because of concerns that the image had been manipulated.
Royal sources said the Princess of Wales made “minor adjustments” and that Kate and the Prince of Wales wanted to offer an informal picture of the family together for Mother’s Day. The source added: “The Wales family spent Mother’s Day together and had a wonderful day.”
