A father and his infant daughter have tragically lost their lives in a car crash, while the mother and son are battling for survival in hospital. The family of four were travelling in Poland when their vehicle collided with a tree. The mother and son are currently in a critical condition following the horrific incident. The family had recently relocated from North Wales to Poland.

It is believed that they resided in Connah’s Quay, Flintshire before the accident occurred shortly after their return to Poland, according to North Wales Live. The fatal accident took place yesterday around 10am on a local road near Olsztyn, on the municipal route between Górowo Iławeckie and the village of Kamińsk (Bartoszyce district).

A GoFundMe page has been established to assist with funeral expenses for the two-month-old girl, named Natalka. The fundraising effort has been organised by a Polish support group, reports the Liverpool Echo. Anna Buckley, from the Polish Integration Support Centre (PISC) in Wrexham, confirmed the heartbreaking news. She stated: “With deepest sorrow, we share the tragic news of the passing of Krzysztof (30) and his baby daughter Natalka, who lost their lives in a terrible car accident in Poland.

“This is a Polish family who had just returned to Poland from Flintshire. Fighting for their lives are the 29-year-old mother Justyna and three-year-old son Piotruś.” She added: “At PISC, just a week ago we supported this family with formalities, passports, and transportation back to Poland from the UK. Today, this family needs help more than ever.

“This fundraiser is dedicated to covering the funeral of little Natalka, as well as potential rehabilitation and psychological support for Piotruś and Justyna, should they survive. We kindly ask for your prayers and any financial support you can offer.” Ms Buckley revealed to North Wales Live today that she had been requested, in her capacity as Director of the UK-based Polish Integration Support Centre (PISC), to help with the repatriation of a Polish family – Krzystof Lewandowski and Justyna Petryszyn along with their two youngsters – to their homeland.

She explained: “I helped to obtain a passport for two-month-old Natalka from the Polish Consulate, as her mother very much wished to return to Poland. It was a very difficult time for her, as she felt alone after giving birth. A PISC volunteer Marcin kindly agreed to act as the family’s driver and accompanied them on their journey from Flintshire to Poland, for which I am very grateful. The family returned to Poland last week.

“Tragically, yesterday I received a phone call with devastating news. Little Natalka and Krzysztof have passed away. The car in which the four-member family was travelling crashed into a tree. Justyna, and three-year-old Piotruś were taken to hospital, where they are now fighting for their lives. The impact was so severe that when the firefighters arrived, she was already outside of the vehicle.”

Ms Buckley added: “This is an unimaginable tragedy. The only thing we can now do for the grandfather is to help him lay his two-month-old granddaughter to rest by supporting the funeral costs. As a mother myself, this is an immense tragedy, because so often we do not truly appreciate those ordinary, everyday moments.

“I cannot even begin to imagine the grief that the grandfather is now facing. Having so recently buried his wife, he must now bury his granddaughter, while at the same time not knowing what will happen to his daughter and young grandson. It is a pain almost impossible to endure, and life feels unbearably hard in the face of such loss. So please if you can share this website I will be grateful.”
