Heathrow passengers have been turned away by police after ignoring advice and walking to the closed airport.
The airport will be closed all day Friday after a fire at a nearby electrical substation that supplies it with power. Thousands have been evacuated from their homes and 1,300 flights are delayed or cancelled.
Heathrow has issued a warning to passengers telling them not to travel “under any circumstances” until it reopens. Despite this, several have been pictured wheeling suitcases up to the terminal before being turned away by police.
