A man has called out a ‘selfish’ plane passenger who wrecked his in-flight entertainment for ‘no good reason’.
He explained how he boarded a flight expecting it to proceed smoothly like the numerous journeys he had taken previously – but unfortunately, he found himself seated behind an ‘entitled’ woman.
Shortly after getting comfortable in his seat, someone settled into the chair in front of him and flung her ponytail over the back of the seat, allowing it to dangle across the TV screen on his side.
This not only prevented him from viewing entertainment aboard the aircraft to help whittle away the time – but also meant he would have to engage in an uncomfortable conversation with a complete stranger to sort out the predicament.
On Reddit’s mildly infuriating thread, he simply posted: “Woman kept covering my screen with her hair during a flight.”
What he cannot fathom is why the woman chose to inconvenience him in this manner – as he insists he had done nothing to provoke her to ‘lash out’.
Responding to his post, users were swift to share how they would have tackled this predicament – with one suggesting: “Big, wet, sloppy sneezes are easy to fake and extremely useful.”
Another user commented: “Start making braids, if she turns say you were bored.”
A third user remarked: “Life hack: Chewing gum makes for an excellent adhesive in a pinch to append hair curtains above viewable screen space to better avoid having your view blocked! Try it!”
Meanwhile, one more user added: “Nine times out of 10 a simple, ‘Excuse me your hair is blocking my TV screen’ will do the trick.”
Another user said: “What confuses me about this is, why doesn’t she just put it in a bun? I understand she doesn’t want to be leaning on her ponytail the whole flight, but that’s so easily fixable by just putting it in a bun.”
A further commenter added: “Flight attendants are there to help you and make your flight more comfortable/enjoyable.
“Ring the bell thing above your head, point to what’s happening, and they would tell her kindly what the problem is.
“Never have to be frustrated or even talk to this person and worry about being rude. Hope that’s what you did.”
Sharing how they handled this exact situation when it happened to them, a final user said: “This happened to me once. I stood up ‘to use the loo’ and put my hand on the back of her seat, ‘accidentally’ tugging it a bit.
“She turned around and gave me a filthy look, which I ignored. When I returned, I put my hand on her hair again. Second filthy look.
“A few minutes later, I had to stand up to ‘get something out of the overhead bin’, and gripped the hairy chair again… this time a little harder.
“The hair disappeared. She turned around and snarked at me: ‘If you wanted me to move my hair, you could have just asked me!’ I responded, ‘If I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand’.”
