Former college football quarterback Phil Jurkovec — who played for Notre Dame, Boston College and Pitt in his career – was arrested last week after he was accused of stealing a vehicle from a hospital in Pennsylvania.
In a wild scene akin to something out of Grand Theft Auto, a man was loading tables and chairs into a box truck in the valet garage at AHN Wexford Hospital in Allegheny County at around 11:21 a.m. on Sept. 18, when Jurkovec jumped into the ride’s cab and took off, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the California Post on Monday.
Jurkovec, 26, allegedly then drove down Pennsylvania roadways before he was eventually stopped by cops.
Jurkovec was taken into custody and booked on two felony charges — one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of receiving stolen property.
Court records show he’s remained behind bars since the arrest because he’s been “unable to post bail.”
The records show he’s due in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 30.
Jurkovec’s attorney, Michael J. Pawk, declined to comment on the matter when reached by The Post on Monday.
Jurkovec began his collegiate career at Notre Dame in 2018, before he transferred to Boston College in 2020.
In 2022, he transferred again to Pittsburgh, where he ended his college football tenure.
Jurkovec played in a total of 39 games for the three programs, throwing for 6,224 yards, 43 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
