People are only just realising the meaning behind the Toblerone logo

Toblerone, the chocolate that’s a festive delight for many to find under their Christmas tree, has an intriguing hidden feature on its packaging that has largely gone unnoticed.

This confectionery is adored for its irresistible honey and almond nougat, and fans have been eagerly indulging in it, especially after production shifted from Switzerland to Slovakia earlier this year.

Consequently, the packaging now states “established in Switzerland” instead of “of Switzerland”. But who really scrutinises the wrapper before tearing into it to reach the scrumptious treat inside?

Well, one sharp-eyed boy did just that, sending social media into a frenzy with his discovery. The packaging became an internet sensation after a Twitter user shared her son’s unexpected observation that left her utterly perplexed.

As he was about to enjoy his first Toblerone, he questioned a detail on the packaging that his mother had never spotted, reports The Mirror.

Her tweet revealed: “My son had his first Toblerone today. ‘What’s the bear for?’ Me: ‘What bear?’ I was today years old when I found out there’s a bear in the Toblerone logo!”

The bear, standing on its hind legs, is part of the two-tone logo, and despite the recent changes to the mountain, it seems the bear might be here to stay.

A social media user explained: “Toblerone comes from Bern, Switzerland. Also known as the city of bears.”

Social media users praised the incredibly observant youngster, with one person joking: “There is clearly no bear in the logo of Tobl… oh, there he is. Damn.”

Another shared in surprise: “I have never seen that!!! Your son is brilliant!”

A third one added: “Eating them for 50 years never noticed that, your lad’s a genius, in my defence the wrapper is the last thing I’m thinking about when I get one.”
