New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye said he’s a “little bit skeptical” that the United States actually landed on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.

During a Monday appearance on WEEI, Maye was asked if there is a wild conspiracy theory that he secretly believes in and made waves online with his response.

“Wow… let me try and not to get too controversial,” he said. “I don’t know about the moon, you know. I think I can see back in the day why we would put on the mask if we went there, but I’m not really sure 200 percent if we went there or not.

“I wouldn’t say I’m leaning one way or the other. I just know I’m a little bit skeptical.”

Maye explained that he took a conspiracy class in college at North Carolina, “which was pretty cool,” — adding that it covered “classic” theories such as, “Hitler being alive” and “Are birds real?”

The topic of conspiracy theories was brought up during an “Ask Me Anything” segment on the “Rich and Ken with Ted Johnson” radio show.

Maye was fresh off an efficient outing a 29-26 win over the Bills on Sunday after a slow start to the 2026 season.

He finished 22 of 37 passing for 269 yards and three touchdowns after two first-half turnovers for the reigning AFC East champions to improve to 2-2.
