Pasadena Humane opened its doors to its most heartrending newcomer yet: little Peanut, a tiny survivor whose traumatic injury left him missing most of his nose and struggling with a dislocated jaw.
Though he arrived in rough condition, staff say his courage shines through every day. The veterinary team is pulling out all the stops to give Peanut the care he so desperately needs.

With too little skin to close his wound, his nose must slowly mend itself from the inside out over the coming weeks.
Peanut wears a tiny stent to keep his nostrils open as his tissue heals, giving him the best possible shot at a normal, happy life.
His journey to recovery is far from over, and Pasadena Humane is reaching out to the community for support to ensure he and others like him receive the lifesaving treatment they deserve.
Every donation to the Miracle Medical Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $7,500, thanks to Fetch Pet Insurance.
For now, Peanut is under careful watch each day and may need more procedures if his airway narrows again.
Supporters can follow his journey on the organization’s Facebook page. So far, $567 has been raised to help him heal.
