Packers coach Matt LaFleur anticipates running back Josh Jacobs will remain on the roster after new allegations of abuse against him were revealed.

The three-time Pro Bowler missed six games this season while on the commissioner’s exempt list following his May arrest on three domestic abuse charges, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim after an altercation with his then-girlfriend.

LaFleur began a Monday press conference with a statement on Jacobs after NBC26 in Green Bay reported Saturday that at least three women contacted the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in Wisconsin with similar allegations against the 28-year-old All-Pro.

“We’re aware of the prior allegations on Josh and we’re going to allow the NFL to do its process,” LaFleur said ahead of Green Bay’s game against the Patriots in Week 9. “But I do anticipate him being a member of us moving forward and that’s really all I have to speak on.”

La Fleur shut down a question from another reporter that said, “With Josh, you’ve had his back throughout the whole thing. Has anything changed considering what you’ve heard over the last few days or are you still kind of in that same mindset with him?”

The coach replied, “Like I said, I’m not gonna get into that up here right now. We’ll just let the process play out.”

LaFleur added, “I would anticipate Jacobs being a part of the team as we go through everything.”

When asked why the Packers made that decision, LaFleur said, “Because we’re just going to let everything play out and obviously go from there.”

Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal damage to property on Sept. 10 regarding the alleged incident with his ex-girlfriend.

On Friday, the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department released a redacted report from the department’s investigation into Jacobs’ alleged domestic violence incident on May 23, 2026 —which included accusations by three other women of alleged physical abuse at the hands of Jacobs.

According to the police records, three women have come forward since Jacobs’ May arrest with alleged incidents from May 2022, January 2022, and April 2021.

The NFL said it is reviewing previously unreported allegations against Jacobs.

Jacobs denied all of the new allegations in a lengthy statement from his lawyers on Sunday that called the revelation “character assassination” that is “unfairly” impacting their client.

He was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list in August.

Jacobs returned in Week 7 and had 11 carries for 36 yards in Green Bay’s 20-17 loss to the Lions.

He scored twice in the Packers’ 27-19 victory over the Panthers on Thursday night at Lambeau Field as they improved to 5-3.

The Packers play the Patriots, also 5-3, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Sunday.
