The Prince of Darkness has sadly died just a day after posting about his band Black Sabbath on his social media to followers. Yesterday (Monday, July 21), Ozzy Osbourne shared a backstage picture of the rock band’s Back to the Beginning tour. The poster’s bottom line reads “The Final Show”.

Back to the Beginning was an emotional evening for Ozzy and the rest of the band on July 5 in Birmingham. The concert was a send-off for Ozzy and Black Sabbath, and it was streamed around the world on pay-per-view.

Just three days ago, Ozzy shared on Instagram: “We are excited to announce the theatrical release of Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow – coming early 2026. The feature-length concert film will be a big-screen celebration of Ozzy Osbourne and the legacy of Black Sabbath, capturing the raw power and emotional weight of Ozzy’s final bow in his hometown of Birmingham.”

The Crazy Train singer appeared in good spirits for the concert, which received rave reviews, and his passing has come as a huge shock to fans who have been left heartbroken.

His death was confirmed this evening, and a statement from his family read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

His fans have been sending their condolences in swarms, with one writing on Instagram: “Rest in absolute peace, legend.”

Another said: “Rest in Peace to one of the greatest legends to ever lived.” A third penned: “Thank you for all you contributed to this world Ozzy. We love you!”

A fourth said: “Thanks for all the memories, you will be missed!” Meanwhile, another fan wrote: “RIP Ozzy. Legendary talent and a down to earth guy.”

“Rest in peace king,” someone else wrote following the tragic news.
