Owen Jones and conspiracy theorists line up to apologise about Princess Kate's speculation

Owen Jones and conspiracy theorists have apologised for their previous disparaging remarks about Princess Kate.

Kate, the Princess of Wales disclosed on Friday evening that she has started preventative chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

The announcement comes after an onslaught of relentless online conspiracy theories targeting the royal spanning the past two months since her hospitalisation was made public.

In January, the mother-of-three spent 13 days at The London Clinic following extensive abdominal surgery.

In a video released by the palace on Friday, she said that the recent months have been exceedingly difficult, particularly in explaining the situation to her children.

Former GB royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “I hope those social media trolls who are peddling such ghastly theories will realise what they have done.

“Her absolute priority will be those three children.”

While Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter commented: “Forced to reveal news of her condition due to an insatiable global appetite for private details, the Princess of Wales has revealed she is undergoing treatment for cancer.

“Those who have sought to profit by promoting cruel conspiracy theories and fueling unsubstantiated rumours are unlikely to reflect on their actions but hopefully the princess’s statement will – at the very least – give them pause.”
