Overwatch 2 fans are counting down to the start of a brand new season, which is shaping up to be the biggest yet.
Overwatch 2 Season 14 has a December 10 release date on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Accompanied by a big new update, the Season 14 content will be playable from 6pm GMT UK time.
The new season contains evreything from new heroes and game modes, to Winter Wonderland rewards and an Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover.
Overwatch 2 Season 14 will be headlined by the release of a brand new Tank hero named Hazard.
The game’s first Scottish hero, Hazard is a damage sponge with a punk rock attitude and the unique ability to reshape the battlefield.
Activision Blizzard explains more: “Hazard’s enhanced mobility allows quick repositioning and dynamic play, while his unique wall-placing ability adds a strategic layer to any match.
“Whether you’re using it to block enemies, control the battlefield, or protect your team, Hazard’s walls redefine tank gameplay.”
In addition to Hazard, Season 14 will introduce the 6v6 Role Queue event, which is said to combine classic Overwatch gameplay, albeit with modern balance.
Teams will be made up of two tank characters (expect Hazard to be a popular pick), two damage dealers, and two support heroes.
Unfortunately, however, 6v6 Role Queue will only be playable from December 17 until January 6. If it’s a success, then don’t be surprised if it makes a comeback in the following season.
Speaking of limited time events, Winter Wonderland also makes a return, which means another chance to play Mei’s Snowball Offensive and Freezethaw Elimination. Completing festive challenges will give players access to the Winter Casual Hanzo skin, and other seasonal rewards.
Elsewhere, Season 14 will add the customisable divine Mythic Thor Reinhardt, which is said to be inspired by Norse mythology.
The transformation takes place over four stages, beginning with leather armour and culminating in fully enchanted plate armour. It even features ambient VFX, as well as custom animations.
