It’s time to be honest, now – when did you last clean your oven door glass?
Most of us need to take more care of our ovens, and those who do can often forget about scrubbing the glass door as it continues to gather a build-up of oil splutters and burnt-on food residue.
These hard-to-get stains make it a trying task to get the glass sparkling as if brand new.
But, professional cleaners, the Cleaning Ladies, also known as @Cleaning20243 on TikTok, have shared an industry tip to get your oven glass gleaming using a basic everyday kitchen item.
The Cleaning Ladies have amassed more than 110,000 likes on the video-sharing social platform, with their videos detailing which corners to cut to get your house clean for less.
The channel’s most-viewed video, ‘Easy oven glass cleaning,’ has been viewed 4.5 million times.
The chore is commonly ignored the world over with users from several countries commenting their thanks to the Cleaning Ladies for their hack.
The trick used by the pros is to use aluminium foil – there is no need to cut off more than a single sheet, to scrape away the accumulated grime from the glass.
You can buy foil from all major supermarkets, including Asda or Tesco for £1.40.
Tear off a sheet of foil and scrunch it into a ball. Next, dip this into your chosen cleaning paste – the Cleaning Ladies use the Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste in the video.
Then, simply scrub the paste onto the oven glass in a circular motion until it is covered in a soapy lather.
The video then shows the cleaning professional using a cleaning cloth soaked in warm water and giving the surface a once-over to remove the paste – revealing a sparkling glass surface beneath.
Be sure not to press down too hard when applying the cleaning paste with the aluminium foil so as to not scratch the oven door.
Other popular methods include using a mixture of chopped lemons and hot water, or vinegar and baking soda.
