It’s the Easter weekend, and just like Christmas, there are some classic movies on TV.

The Oscar-winning British World War 2 film The King’s Speech is among them.

The 2010 movie stars Colin Firth as King George VI, following his brother’s abdication.

Struggling with his stammer, Bertie puts his faith in Geoffrey Rush’s speech therapist Lionel Logue, ahead of his radio broadcast upon the 1939 declaration of war.

Helena Bonham Carter co-stars as Queen Elizabeth (the future Queen Mother), alongside Guy Pearce as King Edward VIII (the future Duke of Windsor), Timothy Spall as Winston Churchill and Michael Gambon as King George V on his deathbed.

Directed by Tom Hooper, the film won four Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Firth and Best Original Screenplay.

The King’s Speech is on BBC Two at 10pm this Good Friday and will be streaming on BBC iPlayer for a limited time afterwards.
