A one-time mayoral candidate in Georgia was busted for allegedly skipping out on a Cracker Barrel bill that was just under $21.

Shekita Maxwell, who unsuccessfully ran to be mayor of Macon in 2024, was arrested Monday night on theft charges over the alleged dine-and-dash saga, WGXA reported.

She was allegedly dining with a man at the popular chain restaurant on Jan. 3 when she stormed out during an argument, according to an incident report.

The man told cops that Maxwell had agreed to cover her half of the check but left without leaving cash.

The manager allowed the man to cover his share — but pressed charges against Maxwell for bailing on her $20.99 bill.

A warrant was issued for her arrest before she was nabbed late Monday.

Maxwell, who unsuccessfully tried to unseat Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller in 2024, has a string of prior arrests to her name.

She was cuffed for family violence and false imprisonment in mid-2024 after allegedly trying to prevent her daughter from calling 911.

Maxwell was also accused of improper management of her campaign funds and accepting an illegal $3,000 anonymous donation during her failed mayoral bid.
