While Prince William and Prince Harry may not have been fans of their father King Charles marrying Queen Camilla 20 years ago, a claim made by Harry in his memoir, it seems that they did, and continue to have, some things in common with their stepmother. As well as all three of them loving the King, 76, they also love one particular beverage too.
Although tea is the staple hot drink to have in the UK, a former royal butler who worked with Charles before he became King from 2004 until 2011 has revealed what drink Camilla, 77, William, 43, and Harry, 40, all like – coffee . Although other royals may also like the drink, it is believed these three royals love it the most.
Former butler Grant Harrold exclusively told Coffee Friend: “Queen Camilla is fond of a cup of coffee, as are William and Harry.”
He continued: “But Camilla, William and Harry are the ones who love coffee the most within the Royal family.
“The late Queen famously liked her tea, and it was rare for her to ever drink coffee. The King also likes tea with honey.”
Harrold also claimed that the royals would not drink coffee in a mug, at least not in the Palaces.
He said: “They would have their coffee in a demi cup, instead of a mug after dinner. During the day, they would have a teacup with a saucer.”
The butler continued: “They were always offered milk and sugar after the coffee was poured. That is the correct etiquette for drinking coffee.
“The King has famously said he prefers to have honey instead of sugar, so he would opt for that instead.”
Although Camilla and her stepsons do share a love of coffee, it is believed they also enjoy tea, with tea leaves often being used at the Palace as opposed to tea bags.
