This year’s most eagerly awaited blockbuster has landed with a bang, garnering praise from both critics and the audience alike.
Introducing a fresh comic book cinematic universe, this thrilling action-packed movie pits an all-time favourite superhero against his notorious foe in an epoch-making showdown.
Featuring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, Superman captivates viewers as the exhilarating, awe-inspiring epic that aficionados of caped crusaders have been anticipating – and now it’s here.
Taking flight in theatres today (Friday, 11th July), the film boasts an impressive 83 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Helmed by the creative genius James Gunn of Guardians of the Galaxy fame and co-produced alongside Peter Safran, DC Studios is poised to usher in a new grand era filled with gods and monsters in what promises to be an audience-favourite spectacle, reports the Mirror.
Devotees who have had the privilege of witnessing the tale unravel on the silver screen are proclaiming it as one of the paramount comic book films in contemporary times.
A particularly zealous fan exclaimed on X (formerly Twitter): “For me, #Superman is not only the best Superman movie, but it’s likely the best comic book movie in the post-COVID era.
“It’s fun, flashy and, well, super. Corenswet is a chatty, charismatic Supes. A great time – I look forward to the future of DC Studios under Gunn and Safran.”
Another cinema-goer highlighted a breakout role, commenting: “I can’t say much more until I post my official review, but oh my god Mister Terrific (played by Edi Gathegi) is an absolute scene stealer in #Superman.
“He has one of the best action sequences in the film and some of the best one-liners in any superhero movie.”
Another enthusiast gushed: “James Gunn’s SUPERMAN is the comic book movie I’ve been waiting to see for decades.
“The film shines with a sense of play that, paired with kicka** filmmaking, superhero cinema hasn’t seen this boldly served since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. The DC Universe is in good hands.”
One more fan exclaimed: “#Superman is a comic come to life in ways I never knew were possible and beaming with so much heart that I couldn’t help but love it!
“A beautiful story that balances many elements really well with a perfect cast and the most creative action possible.
“I could talk about this for hours so I’ll end by saying that Superman made me feel a way I haven’t felt watching a superhero movie in a long time.
“It’s the genre at its best and EASILY my fav Superman film, I still haven’t stopped smiling.”
With fans raving, will you be part of the crowd to witness Superman soar once more this weekend?
