If you’ve been playing video games since the 1990s, then you might remember a couple of strategy games called Theme Park and Theme Hospital. Developed by Bullfrog Productions, these games let players build and run their own theme parks and hospitals, respectively.
In the case of Theme Hospital, players would need to design hospitals, making sure they had all of the necessary rooms, beds and equipment to treat an increasing number of patients, not to mention hiring doctors, nurses and maintenance staff to keep things running smoothly. It was all a bit tongue-in-cheek, featuring diseases that transformed patients into Elvis impersonators and aliens, among other things.
Despite its status as one of the best strategy games of all time, Theme Hospital never received a proper sequel, although it did get a spiritual successor in the form of 2018 release Two Point Hospital.
If you want to see what a modern Theme Hospital would have looked like, then the good news is that Two Point Hospital is currently available for free, no strings attached.

Indeed, in its bid to compete with Steam as the number one PC gaming platform, Epic gives away at least one game for free every week.
Two Point Hospital is free from now until 4pm BST UK time on June 19, when it will be replaced by The Operator (which is also worth checking out).
Once you visit the Epic Games Store and have logged into your account, head over to the Two Point Hospital page and click the ‘GET’ button to add it to your library.

Two Point Hospital is the latest in a long line of premium freebies on the Epic Games Store. The company recently gave away the likes of Dead Island 2, as well as Sifu, Limbo and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
Two Point Hospital, meanwhile, has an impressive 83% score on Metacritic and a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam.
The game features similar gameplay to Theme Hospital, including its sense of humour and playfulness.

Two Point Hospital was followed by Two Point Campus in 2022, and Two Point Museum earlier this year.
