One of Michael Caine’s best ever movies has been added to Now TV.
The 1964 war film Zulu offers viewers a gripping portrayal of the Battle of Rorke’s Drift, a pivotal event during the Anglo-Zulu War.
Directed by Cy Endfield, Zulu meticulously recreates the intense standoff where approximately 150 British soldiers defended a mission station against an onslaught of 4,000 Zulu warriors in 1879.
In this film, Michael Caine delivers a compelling performance as Lieutenant Gonville Bromhead, an aristocratic officer initially perceived as inexperienced. Caine’s portrayal masterfully evolves, revealing Bromhead’s resilience and leadership amidst overwhelming odds.
