A reckless Mercedes driver trying to beat the light whizzed through a Bronx intersection and mowed down four pedestrians — killing one — in a wild broad daylight scene Friday, law enforcement sources said.

The driver was heading west on Allerton Avenue when he blew through a steady red light at the Holland Avenue intersection around 2:15 p.m. and hit four women — between the ages of 50 and 60 — crossing in the crosswalk, according to the sources.

They were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where one woman died, two are listed in critical condition and another is expected to survive, the sources said.

The Mercedes driver also struck two other vehicles, according to the sources.
