An off-grid cabin nestled in a British woodland, which is “home to fairies”, is on sale for £165,000. However, potential homeowners are warned that this property comes with an ‘evil’ warning.
The secluded two-bedroom home was built in 1926 in Whittle Dene Woods, Northumberland, and was used to house evacuees during the Second World War. The cabin is only accessible on foot through the woods, with on-street parking available on the edge of St Andrews Lane, thought to be a five to ten minute walk away. And, legends claim the area is haunted by an evil spirit.
It’s based on the stories of local villain turned local legend named Long Lonkin. His crimes were said to have included robbery and murder but it was for his last villainous deed that he became the subject .
