'Oasis won’t complete their world tour for one reason – as a superfan, I know why’

Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher set the world alight when they announced the news of their reunion tour, and it was an instant sell-out as fans across the globe were desperate to get their hands on tickets to see the Britpop pioneers come together after almost 16 years of feuding.

Around 900,000 tickets have been sold for the Oasis Live ’25 tour, and it kicks off tonight (Friday, July 4) at 5pm at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium before it continues in Manchester, Edinburgh, London, Dublin, North America and South America.

The rock ‘n’ roll duo are reportedly set to earn £50 million each from the band’s revival – but will they really be able to put their major difference aside and complete the highly anticipated tour in one piece?

The band is as famous for its number-one gritty hits like Wonderwall and Supersonic as it is for the turbulent relationship between lead vocalist Liam and songwriter-guitarist Noel.

Sibling rivalry is nothing new, but the men, now 52 and 58, have always taken it to another level. Years of vicious insults, infighting and incidents culminated in 2009 when the band split minutes before they were set to perform at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Fans were understandably raging and disappointed, and Noel eventually released a statement that read: “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

He later recounted a backstage argument in which Liam allegedly grabbed his guitar and started “wielding it like an axe”. The pair went their separate ways, making their own music with Noel’s Beady Eye and Liam’s High Flying Birds, but fans have been praying for a reunion of Oasis for more than a decade.

There were whispers about the brothers putting their differences aside for a reunion in 2015, but it never materialised, and the outspoken pair continued to publicly jibe at one another on social media.

And here we are 10 years on, with the brothers set to perform to a packed stadium of 75,000 people this evening. But will it go ahead as planned, or will the fiery rockers clash and cancel the show?

According to their mother Peggy Gallagher, the Mancunians have been at loggerheads since birth, so their management and fans alike must be slightly anxious that there’s a chance they might pull out of their tour hours before it starts.

They’ve also reportedly got separate dressing rooms and transport for the tour, as their managers aim to minimise any potential conflict. According to sources, there will also be limited interaction between the brothers during rehearsals.

Fans have forked out serious money to listen to Oasis perform, and management is clearly trying to take measures to prevent any beef from forming between the band. If Liam and Noel cancel a gig, they could lose all hope of another reunion tour in the future, as they’d be too much of a liability.

There are 41 shows between now and the tour’s end in November. Will every concert go smoothly, with Liam and Noel coming across as the best of pals, or will it quickly fall apart as it has done in the past?

Let’s hope that, for fans’ sake, everyone gets treated to Oasis’ full setlists and the brothers can finally put their feuding to rest. However, as the saying goes, when something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
